I am one of those people that tend to not eat a lot of sweets and chocolates throughout the year just because I don't have much of a sweet tooth. Except on Christmas, that is where my cravings
that have been sleeping the last 11 months awake and need sugar.
This is one of the easiest, quickest and yummiest recipe I could think of to share with you.
The ingredients are listed below.
As you can see you don't need much. Little side note if you don't have Vanilla sugar, I recommend using 2 real vanillas and scrape the insides into the bowl. Also instead of real butter I used margarine which is especially for baking.
Lets get to business.
STEP 1. Add 300g flour, 70g sugar, 1 pack of vanilla sugar ( alternatively real vanilla), 220g Butter and 100g almonds into a bowl.
STEP 2. Before adding the milk, use a flat objec to cut through the butter and start mixing the ingredients. You can then continue to mix everything until the mixture looks similar to breadcrumbs.
STEP 3. Add milk and mix again. I did everything by hand because I find it easier.
STEP 4. Preheat oven to 180-200 degrees Celsius.
STEP 5. Take small portions and form into a banana shape. Size is up to you, these came out a bit thicker my next batch I made smaller and thinner because my mother likes them more crunchy.
STEP 6. Put into the oven for about 15 minutes. They will be light brown, leave in longer if you prefer them more crunchy.
STEP 7. As soon as they come out of the oven, sprinkle over some Vanilla Sugar and confectioners Sugar. Leave to cool and serve. I honestly prefer them when they are a couple of days old.
I hope you enjoyed this post and give it a try :)
